Photographer’s Note
Kampung Morten ( Morten Village ) is one of Malaysian national heritage site, and also accepted by UNESCO world heritage at 01 July 2008. It is located next to the Melaka River (Sungai Melaka). It was named after J.F. Morten, who was the Commissioner of Land in the early 1920’s during the early history of the village.
At the end of 1922, 6 families from Kampung Johol had migrated to Kampung Morten and there were the first pioneer settlers & residents of this village. They were later followed by others villagers from Kampung Johol, Kampung Jawa Pantai, Kampung Jawa Tengah and Kampund Selak Darat Serambai.
Workshop
To avoid the pillar, I was shoot this house from a different pov, but miss out the entrance door and brown staircase.

Hi Ally,
nice house, pleasant flowers and simple architecture. Pity that here's ugly pillar in composition. WS is good. An interesting documental presentation.

Ally,
It sure look really cute and lovely, Nothing spectacular, not a mansion, but there is that charm and homeliness, down to earth, somewhere I would like to live in. Beautiful shot and thanks for sharing the style of the houses. The workshop is also nice with a different POV and larger and more details even. Thanks I just realize I'm out of smiley faces.

Hello Ally,
it is always very interesting to know the "style" of other countries, especially those where you have never been before!
It is a pity that there is a pole of the street lamp in front of the house, but there's not much we can do about it.
Very good photo - good composition, nice quiet colours. In a way many houses which are built in Russia look similar to this house (as well as some others). This is curious!
Best regards,
Elena

Olá Ally, very nice Malay house in spite of the roof not being very aesthetic. I imagine it's the common roof they have everywhere. Everything seems neat and well taken care and the entrance is a lovely detail. Even the car fits well in the whole set. The WS is a better composition indeed, but I understand the choice for this one - maybe a closer approach to the entrance would work well.

Hi Ally, how are you today? This is an excellent photo of the old heritage site. I think I prefer the Workshop however, I really like the angle you have obtained there. Both images are very sharp and the saturation is really good. TFS, Lisa.

Hi Ally,
The flowers and the trees are framing well the malay house. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the architecture of the house. The picture is clear and sharp. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors of the house. Have a nice day.

hi Ally
Can you eliminate that lamp post? Or move in nearer to the house? Very authentic style of the classic house and well composed shot. I imagine you literally walk through the streets of Melaka to shoot every house? Good documentary work.

Hello Ally, Both very nice shots, this one shows us the very beautiful entrance but as you noticed the pole is little of a distraction, the other is I think even butter, although the entrance is missing, Posting this & the other in WS is an excellent idea, we can now see the wider view of this beautiful village house. Good quality print, sharp, clear & good colour.

I like both shots Ally, but this one is best so we can see the lovely decorated stairs. The house is very pretty with the pots of flowers at the bottom of the steps.

Hi Ally,
for me it is a fascinating view on a strange part of this world you are sharing with us. I also think that this heritage is a very cozy and neat place, the architecture is beautiful, and I even like the roof. The pole is a bit disturbing but I also like it. I am looking forward to further impressions from your places, dear Ally!
Warm regards

Hi Ally,
Another nice addition to your educative series on Malay popular architecture. Very candid, but seemingly cosy, with the plants and flowers enhancing the charm. You chose a good POV, very effective for the presentation.
I like also the WS, but despite the pillar being a bit disturbing here and the nice presence of the flag on the WS, I prefer this perspective.
The only thing less great is the "greyness", a kind of lack of lightness and contrast, despite the exposure being right. Honestly I think that you should try to improve that aspect, because it's something that cause some harm in some of your posts. Well, perhaps this conversation makes no sense because the natural light is the cause.
Regards, José.
