Related history from wikipedia :-
The development of relations between Malacca and China was at that time a strategic decision to ward off further Siamese attacks.
Because of its strategic location, Malacca was an important outpost for Zheng He's spectacular exploration fleet. To enhance relations, Hang Li Po, allegedly a princess of the Ming Emperor of China, arrived in Malacca, accompanied by 500 attendants, to marry Sultan Manshur Shah who reigned from 1456 until 1477. Her attendants married the locals and settled mostly in Bukit Cina (Chinese Hill).
A cultural result of the vibrant trade was the expansion of the Peranakan people, who spread to other major settlements in the region.

Hello Ally,
Good symmetry and colors. Interesting paint work on the facade. This is something not regularly seen on traditional houses on Main Street of towns across the country. If you do see one it usually belongs to a very wealthy family. Regards. Latiff.

A much ornamented facade for this Chinese house, although the decorative pillars do not seem very Chinese in my opinion.
All the best,

Hi Ally,
Very, very charming! So colourful, so nicely decorated... Really beautiful!
The adjustment of perspective of these architecture shots can be very tricky. It's just a minor detail, but it is a bit pity that the left part (not the fright part) seems slightly tilted.
Regards, José.
