The Melaka River can be said to the cradle of its beginning with the founding of the Malacca Sultanate in the 15th century. The river and its tributaries offered an ideal waterway for transporting people and goods.
Today, its past glory has faded. Murky water flows idyllically past the city before emptying into the Straits of Malacca.
Tourists can take a river criuse to enjoy the sights. |
