Photographer’s Note
Went to the historical town of Melaka for the Christmas break. Took a morning stroll with my wife along Melaka River and found this old building across the river. Taken with a Hoya PL.

I love the pastel colour of this old townhouse. The water reflection adds drama to the whole scene. Nice work!

This must be your "maiden" picture with your 300D. I have been shooting the Drebel for over a year now and if ever there is a tip or suggestion, I'd say, go for Manual or Creative Modes all the times. If you want bright color and contrast, set to Parameter 1 but more color and detail for printwork, Parameter 2 which is Canon 10D's default setting. Also go easy on the sharpening. Stick to low or no sharpening. Flash, get yourself Sigma EF500 Super DG. It is as good as Canon 550EX, and a lot cheaper too.

very nice reflection, Raymond, and also the colors are faded, serene and beautiful. i like it a lot but i think i would have prefered a horizontal composition, to see more of the surroundings.
