Spending some time with a couple of my tuition students in a park, I took this photo of Durgadevi (or her Christian name, Ruth). She has much fairer skin compared to her siblings, making her not seem like she's Indian on first glance.

This is a good portrait photo. The highlights in the girl's cheeks are well done. The clarity and sharpness are not so good, however.
Looking at it, I'm struck by how often we see child portraits taken from an adults height, making the children look up. This is, of course, how we actually usually see them but it might be more interesting to get down to their level for the shot to allow the subject to adopt a more natural posture.
