This photo shows night photo of famous Kuala Lumpur Clock Tower in special festive light (captured last night, Febr. 10).

The clock tower that forms a part of magnificent Sultan Abdul Samad building. This building which was designed, in unique moorish-style, by British architect A.C Norman was completed in 1897. The architect added an Islamic touch that suitably reflects the cultural background of Malaysia to the mostly Renaissance design.

This is the most photographed building in the city, with a 40m clock tower affectionately dubbed "Big Ben", topped with a golden dome and flanked on both sides by two domed towers.

The clock tower is significant to many major events and it was also used in the countdown to independence on the eve of 31st August 1957.

During state occasions and special public holidays, colored lights twinkle in the arches, making it look like a scene from an Arabian Nights' tale.

Fantastic illuminations in blue and golden tone collected at night, Miro.
the old edifices light gave a fine contrast on the modern building behind, where light upon is more on the metalic light-green color.

Hi Miro
A glamoruos night scene full of vibrancy and a visual feast for the eyes abound of colorful glowing colors which naturally compete for attention. But the golden domes are all that important colors needed to separate from the rest and obviously creating that effective impact and contrast against the surroundings. Range of colors has always remained as natural attraction in a shot like this and can be hard on the eyes. You certainly know how to find the right subject, angles and sight, the favourable conditions to make the best of the available elements. Skillfully taken shot indeed. Well done, Congrats.

I remember this clock tower very well, in fact have uploaded a photo of it from a different angle. We celebrated New Years in the park opposite. Nice lighting and colours. The image looks a little soft on my monitor, but that could be because it is not working very well at the moment. An interesting and attractive shot in any event.

Hi Miro,

What an exquisite clock tower this is, and a fine night time capture with its color arrangement. Your note adds even more interest to the picture. You've managed to achieve plenty of detail for such low light conditions, nicely exposed. That deep blue works so well in contrast with the black, not bold or overpowering but flowing and alluring to the eye. The horizontal lines from the bank exterior adds a nice effect against the vertical composition. Great shot!

This is a very good night shot of this famous landmark! The illumination of the tower is very good to show the details and the exposure is good also. I also like the contrast between the tower in foreground and the new building in background.
