Working on a project in downtown Kuala Lumpur near the new KLCC Convention Centre. It is due to open in Mid June 2005. I brought my camera to take some photos of our work in progress on-site.
Suzie pictured here works as a receptionist and she has a bright and friendly smile. She was wearing this beautiful baju kebaya and I couldn't resist but to ask to take a photo of her.
Baju means clothing in Bahasa Malaysia and kebaya was derived from the Arabic word kaba meaning “clothing”
and introduced via the Portuguese language. Kebaya was probably introduced to Melacca in the 16th century by Portuguese women arriving there. Some of the easily recognizable features of today’s kebaya – a fitting design, fold-back collarless V neck, front opening and long sleeve.
Baju kebaya is like the official costume for Malay ladies. Whereas Cheongsam for Chinese and Saree for
Indian. I intend to put each of the above costume in TE when I have the chance.
The photo was resize and added border. Adjusted brightness and sharpen image.

Beautiful Baju Kebaya and lovely lady. Love her smile. Anyway of getting to know her...just kidding. She have the potential to fashion for traditional wear.
Why not try on some Baju kebaya from Batik prints? This will be much nicer.

A nice portrait, Chai. The blue background makes the model and her clothes stand out nicely. Suzie has a really beautiful smile and I like her baju kebaya, it looks shiny and comfortable to wear. It is always interesting to see traditional costumes.

Chai: The color stands out and the blue background works pretty good and makes Suzie stand out. There is a slight shadow dont know how this could have been avoided.
