This is the ceiling of the Thean Hou Temple situated in the hills of Kuala Lumpur. It is the same temple where the people are seen praying in my previous shot. The temple was built between 1981 and 1987 and was opened in 1989. It is dedicated to the the Heavenly Mother Goddess Tian Hou. However statues of two other goddesses also reside here, namely Guan Yin(Goddess of Mercy) and Shui Wei Sheng Niang (Goddess of the Waterfront). The temple incorporates elements of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. As I said before, you can't help but feel peace and well-being in this place.
I thought this was an appropriate photo to mark the commencement of Chinese New Year, which begins today. To you all, Happy Year of the Dragon.

Very interesting temple. the decoration is like in the Chinese temple but the dome is like Islamic, with the effect of the cave. and there are small dragons here, just fitting to the Year of Dragon!

le decorazioni di questo tempio sono incredibili, non facile l'inquadratura, ma tu sei stata bravissima, scatto fatto a mano libera per cui complimenti doppi, stupendi i colori e con l'esposizione non potevi settare in maniera migliore la tua camera,

A splendid capture of this beautifully decorated ceiling. You have framed the shot well; the image benefits much from the excellent lighting and has very good colours and sharpness.

this is an amazing mix of colours and detail, so beautiful and intricate. A difficult shot to get just right so that it does not lose the impact of seeing it first hand, but this works so perfectly. Well done!
Regards - Brian.

Thank you for another vision from a faraway land, mystical and magic. Your view is unique, the slanted ceiling floating overhead, the euphoric Malaysian art, and colors everywhere.
Keep up the fine works,

this is a color explosion!
like you popped a balloon full of paint and out came a wonderful collection of colors.
I see you had to pump up the ISO,handheld too, hard to execute these shots.
love the colors.
have a great one

Surely four goddesses? What about the one holding the camera?
An interesting note and a fine photograph. A very, very colourful place and very attractive too even although I think it lacks some of the subtlety of fine European architecture.
You have composed this perfectly. Very symmetrical and with the apex of the dome lying on the upper horizontal dividing line of thirds, there are strong lines of perspective either side and the top and bottom of the picture are nicely "finished off" and framed by the colourful horizontal beams of the roof. Perfect exposure (in difficult conditions, I suspect), beautiful colours and stunning sharpness - you have a steady hand!

A very colourful ceiling Lisa and very differentb to the ones I saw in Morocco and Andalucia. Well presnted.

Ciao ma chère Lisuzza-san,
This is incredible! A Happy New Year to you once again! What a pleasure to see this image, which is so carefully treated and cared for. The lighting in this image is so even and well exposed. The photographic image has a magnetic charm. It is very rare to see this many details in one image. The photo represents well indeed a feeling of celebration. The cheerful image uplifts any soul in need of a feeling of well being. I am very happy to see and meet with this photo. I am near-sighted, so even with my naked eyes I would not see the ceiling so well. I have to tell myself “lucky me” I am very glad to find this image coming for us all.
With my best and warmest regards,
Thank you, Lisuzza-san!

Ciao cara Diavolina,
BRAVISSIMA!!!
Ciao, un grande abbraccio!

When I read the title, I thought the three goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswati and Parvathi. When I read the note, they were from different religions. A spectacular ceiling with so much art work. The colors are amazing. It is worth a visit to this temple.

Just found another missing critique. Good upward pov with excellent colour, sharpness & saturation. Another locale in KL I have yet to visit. Good to have both top & bottom level. Perspective can be a nightmare sometimes!

A very evocative name for your image, and very fitting as its very lush with colour and amazing decoration. Most domes I see tend to be quite plain and bland, but this is really special and the colours are fantastic.
And a very happy (albeit late) happy new year of the Dragon to you too, a special year for me, being one of the dragons in question :)
