Just before I post my last Melaka shot, I thought I put up this little experiment. It break a TE rule since it's of my colleague Anne, in KLIA last Friday, whilst waiting for our plane home. On the other hand it was genuinely unposed (she hadn't realised I'd taken it until I showed her), and I the front page of the NST give it legitmate TE credentials. Quie a good news paper, but some things about it like the kind of parody one sometimes sees.
This was the first chance I'd had to look at my new 20D, and this the very first shot with it.
I played around with the ISO setting and took this at 1600, hand held, no flash. SLightly moved but I was quite pleased with the result. PP colour balance to natural, and a tight crop, the original had all her head in, and more of the paper.

Shocking indeed Richard.. Glad to see your first post with the 20D.. Still don't know if to buy it or not..
The blur isn't that disturbing..
I am wonder about your crop here, everytime I see a square format, I am always wondering what was left out?

I like this final result Richard. Itīs an interesting photo, with lots of sensibility.
Out of focus effect is adorable. Well done and seen.

read the note - good joib with cropping; i think that the final effect (also "shaken" pic) is pleasant; maybe a bit more focus on Anne would drive mora attention to her face as now also paper's text drives it; anyhow - well broker rule of te, richard; like it

Maybe a bit higher dof would strenghten the shot? Focus appears to in the background. Well composed. I like the graphism of the white paper against the dark background.

Oh...a new camera...for a first shot, this is not bad at all. Good composition/cropping. Try BW...I guess it would look more interesting, IMHO.

Interesting composition, the out of focus newspaper takes the most of area of the photo.

A 20D! I'm jealeous... ;-)
Excelent POV and crop. It's a dinamic image dispite the subject. Her expression is great, very concentrated and natural and har face is very nice and expressive.
I like the colors in the newspaper area here, but generally I think I prefer the golden tones of the WS photo. They are richer and "confortable".
