Petronas Twin Towers, another landmark of Kuala Lumpur, are located in center of the city nearby Kuala Lumpur Telecom Tower (see my previous posted image). Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004, until Taipei 101 was completed in 2004. The height of Petronas Twin Towers is 378.6 m with top floor at 378 m level. The height of the towers is measured to the top of their structural components such as spires, but does not include antennas. The tower 1 was built by Japanese and Tower 2 by South Korean consortium. The Petronas Twin Towers were completed in 1998 after seven years of construction. The photo was taken from 23rd floor, Wisma Zelan building.

mi piace questa panoramica, ben composta con le torri più alte decentrate, il cielo ha dei bei colori pastello.
Ottima la qualità.

You have chosen a great vantage point for your KL skyline photos. Nice composition and the same great dynamic sky as in your previous post.
Have a great Saturday,
MJR (3360) 2012-06-02 5:34
I am sure I read that KL was always shrouded in smog !
Not so obviously ... This has a lovely light to it, a reflective quality, shining off the towers and the white buildings to the foreground. A good cloudscape to the rear ties it all together nicely.
godd job !
mayjayne (6334) 2012-06-02 5:38
I live in KL, and have yet to capture a shot of the towers as interesting as this. Well done!

You're capturing well this cityscape with skyscrapers by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see Twin Towers with silver color and unique shape. And, mountain range in behind draws out a good atmosphere as well as the dyed to evening color.
Have a nice weekend.

I am wondering where you took this from... What an imposing tower to see it soaring above the other sky-scrapers. You are lucky to live in two places, I see. I look forward to viewing the rest of your gallery in time.
daddo (27022) 2012-09-03 2:36
Hi Miro. I have a few shots of the towers in my gallery but not with the perspective you present here. it is good to see them against KL's other buildings. Excellent clarity and very good light that is most suitable in preserving all the details. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Miro, very nice shot of the famous Twin Towers with great sharpness on the close up and of course a very useful note!
nikkitta (17066) 2013-10-24 15:51
Good informative note , where you forgot to say that the builder of them was the Argentina born architect Cesar Pelli, still working and living at Usa
About the capture from a good place, you composed a very good city landscape with a dramatic stormy blue sky
Great frame also, congrats
jcpix (13930) 2013-12-12 15:06
This showed up on your profile page this afternoon, and did so with immediate impact! Terrific shot, this gives quite a solid idea to the towers size and relation to its surrounding "partners." Plus, you have a wonderful backdrop of soft colors in the sky which accents the metallic looking finish just splendidly. I remember these being the tallest in the world, as you mentioned...crazy how quickly those records fall!? It's none the less impressive though, and you've put them on a most delightful display with this image. Thanks for providing us with this view.
adramad (46970) 2014-01-28 8:11

Well done. I love it.

These towers are one the symbols of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia Miro. On your illustration, only the tallest buildings are visible
abmdsudi (55618) 2015-01-04 21:01
Brill low light shot. A strong image filling the whole frame portraying the modern architectural beauty of the looming twin towers which dominate the skyline! Amazing clarity, tones and sharpness, really like the sense of grandiose of the buildings. Well shot, Congrats, TFS
batalay (39277) 2015-01-07 13:24
A spectacular depiction of the twin towers. The light and resolution are sensational. In November 2000, I visited Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru. At the latter, I gave a series of talks at the Malaysian University of Technology. Then when I saw these Petronas Towers, I suspected that the approximate lengths of the segments are according to the Fibonacci numbers, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8... in the proportions to each other. When my book, "Math and the Mona LIsa," was published in 2004, I wrote about these proportions, and demonstrated with a photo I took. I wish I had access to this photo, I would have asked for permission to include the photo in the book. Of course, you did not take the photo until 2007, and publish it until 2012. But what a photo!
PaulVDV (29827) 2015-03-04 11:50
A good sharp, clear and colourful presentation of the skyline of KL with an atractive sky on the background.
Good contrast between the sunlit part of the sky and the darker clouds and dark mountain slopes.
Long time ago I've visited KL but then there were no Petronas Twin Towers.
Best regards, Paul
EstudioChispa (2176) 2015-03-11 7:10
This image could be the cover of a science fiction novel, or an urban thriller. You have captured the Kuala Lumpur skyline in a very artistic light.
I have recently been considering the advice that, in a foto, "sky is boring" and it should be minimized. This image may be "the exception that proves the rule," that is, it demonstrates that the sky is not always boring, and when, as here, it is spectacular, it can contribute much to the emotion of an image. Well done!

Good evening Miro,
The known skyline of KL, with what was the tallest towers and held record for long time.
Excellent clear details of the modern buildings with good use of the strong backlight.
ourania (47844) 2015-12-02 13:55
the cityscape looks futuristic and fascinating, not only the awesome towers but also all the buildings around them are depicted with great precision, their colours are distinct although similar. I wonder what daily life is like in this modern cityscape that keeps expanding and evolving. The backdrop is quite dramatic, it's interesting that it doesn't diverge from the palette of the city. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
kiks (12737) 2016-08-21 14:36
Impressive skyline and the bg enhance it. Your composition make the towers come out perfectly.
