Sri Maha Mariamman Temple
Situated edge of Chinatown in Jalan Bandar, Kuala Lumpur. Founded in 1873 it is the oldest Hindu temple in the city. In 1968, new structure was built, featuring the ornate 'Raja Gopuram' tower in the style of South Indian temples.
There have been Hindu influences in Malaysia since the dawn of history, but the Hinduism of the Hindu period in Malaysian history has little connection with the Hinduism practiced in the country today. Brahmanical Hinduism which flourished at the courts of petty Malaysian states before the coming of Islam in the 15th century was an aristocratic used to bolster the authority of the ruling class, which was carried across the Indian Ocean by early Hindu traders. Relics and remains from this period have also been found, principally in Kedah.

to tell you the truth, i was left speachless by the detailed figures on the tower. splendid photo of a beautiful place, great colours, although i'm not sure about the frame.
on another note - i wonder if you have a close-up of the tower? it seems to be one of those marvels that deserve photos showing its details.

You took photo with a great focus and sharpness. What a lot of details on the front of the temple.

This is a great image in details. When I see this, i think, I am in Tamil Nadu, visiting the "Mariamman Temples".. Thank you for that....
