Photographer's Note

Taken from inside a swanky new mall intended for the niche market of upper-crust Malaysians.

Things are expectedly well put together for a place of this stature. The placement of this very place, however, is not of everyone's favour.

A school with great history was torn down a few years back to make way for this project. I remember reading and watching the old girls' society of the school urging the authorities for their little hideout to be spared.

But this is Bukit Bintang district where anything and everything is about consumerism, about supply and demand -- and what is history and character compared to building the ultimate retail space?
