Imagine sitting at the top level of one of the Petronas Twin Towers. The early morning sunshine has suddenly been replaced by a prodigious cover of dark clouds; the whole city of Kuala Lumpur is under siege from a tropical storm. The clouds are now hovering over your office, it will begin to splash rain over the city soon. You look out, as if you're on the clouds, as if you're at one with Nature, looking after the humanity that is below.....

*****

This is the second of a series of photographs I took during a short visit to Kuala Lumpur over this weekend. I was having lunch on the KL Tower's Angcasa Restaurant when I saw this huge storm approaching the city, and I snatched my camera when I saw the clouds over the Twin Towers, the second tallest buildings in the world today (after Taipei 101 in Taiwan). Seeing how the Towers take this storm (which occurs frequently in the tropics) is indeed a refreshing perspective. Hope you like it!

Beautiful shot. Love the light between the dark cloud and the dark of the buildings.

Great photo, very well framed by the clouds above. Fantastic cityscape.
Regards, Marcin.

Really great view of the city, interesting atmosphere of the photo. My congratulations! Andrzej

Great shot; although for fairness sake, Sears Tower in Chicago is the second tallest building in the world in 3 out of 4 categories.

Hi Lim
Interesting shot of the KLCC, sitting majestically amid the concrete jungle of KL.
The cloudy sky and glommy weather provided the dramatic and "lively" image.
Great shot, Lim.
Cheers.

btw, is LIM your surname?

Wonderful image of this big city with the amazing Towers. The light is cool. The cloudy and dark sky is very special. Very nice image.

Hi Kean Fan,
I can see that not even the good food can distract you from this drama outside. Indeed it is a moment not to be missed and you have recorded it very well an successfully. I enjoyed the subtle colours of the buildings being engulfed with the grey mist of the rain and the faint mountains let us feel the space that this city stretched. Splendid shot here!! Regards and thanks.

fantastic shot Kean. I very much like your perspective and the dark gloomy atmosphere. It must be quite thrilling to have this view from up there.

Good skyline capture of my birth city. This picture definately shows that a storm is approaching. Good composition and pov.

Greta shot and POV a little bit hazy but i think this adds to the over all effect!
