Photographer’s Note
Looks nice. Whetting the appetite. The smell from mother's kitchen never fails to please. This is a simple dish present at most Malay families' meals.
Mother's Fried Fish
Local Mackerels - cleaned, head intact.
Fresh tumeric - pounded
Coarse Sea Salt - pounded
Palm Oil for shallow frying.
Rub mackerels with tumeric and salt.
Heat oil.
Fry both sides until crispy on the outside.
Serve as a staple accompaniment to hot white boiled rice.

I'm sorry, but I'm vegetarian, ohhhh!!!
Great image, and great idea, the smell from mother kitchen, unforgetable. Good composition. Growing to the right, nice. Congratulations and welcome to TE.

I am hungry now. Is there anything better than the smell of mother's kitchen?! Besides feeling hungry, now I am nostalgic too. Your photo is powerful! Regards, Djenno

I would say, almost all Malaysian could identify to this. A black wok with sizzling, frying fishes. To go with this, a big bowl of lada & kicap + limau + slices of bawang merah and wispy hot rice.
Composition, getting the wok's handle from the lower left side brings the viewer into the frying pan (no pun intended here) tells me you are not really that of a novice.
