Kota Bahru is mainly a muslin town, located in Northeast Malasia. You go trough it, to get the paradise islands called Perhentian. Although most people only pass by, on the way to the islands, this small town is also a very interesting place to visit, filled with culture and tradition.
Among other things, the commerce here, is plentiful and lively. The town has several fascinating markets and this is one of them.

I always try to visit the markets everywhere I go, because it’s a privileged place to get a feeling of the people’s life and ways. Usually they are filled with colours and smells and it’s a party to our senses.

Back in 2000, I did not have a proper camera. Just an ordinary, automatic one. The light conditions were not good and of course I did not have a tripod.
Still, I decided to post this one, because I love the POV and the place, and I wanted to show it to you. I hope you like it.

belle vue "de haut" de ce marché. J'aime bien l'effet que cela donne. L'alignement de ces légumes sur la gauche est bien vu

Hi Ricardo, I like the angle looking down on these women and her produce. It shows the layout of the "stall" well. I particularly like the neat arrangement of the vegetables on the left of the frame.

A great market scene and one that is common in many parts of the world. I like your composition, we can see all the essential food items of daily life. A good downwards looking shot and nicely framed.

A real Top Down approach. Usually I prefer Bottom Up but not at this picture. Nice colorful triangle composition.

a very fascinating pov!
Comparing ws and the original, I consider ws to be sharper...
What resolution has the original? I do not like to carry out workshops as I have not the original available regarding sharpness, saturation and cropping.

Gosto de ambas as fotos embora também ache que publicaria como "post" esta. Bom e original ponto de vista desta área do mercado. Grafismo, geometria e muitos detalhes e legumes muito coloridos. Hi Ricardo,
An interesting and exceptional shot from so far above this market. The POV really gives a perspective not normally seen. What strikes me most are two aspects: the riot of colours, and secondly the rounded nature of all the baskets of wares. The surrounding food portions give balance and enhance the main subject here and the people warm the scene. A fine capture.

This view could have been taken in a vast number of countries, I must have similar ones in my archives, a good PoV to explore the street activity without being noticed, this triangle stand is cleverly placed as it seems impossible to avoid it regardless of your direction !

personally I would have preferred the cropped shot with less sharpening ... I feel that you sharpened this photo a bit too much for my tastes.
Another thing that i wanted to point out is that I would have liked to include more of the ground at bottom in this shot ... in the current version I feel that there is more than required empty space on top but the photo needs to breathe at the bottom.
btw ... otherwise ... it is pleasure to look at this aerial view of the market.

A great pov, looking down on the marketplace, with excellent sharpness & color. But what attracts me more is the virtual triangle formed by the sellers' ware at the centre of the image. This shape adds a different dimension to this market place photo & hence is quite special
