Water feeder is a stretch of canal to feed water into a vast area of padi fields in Kedah. The sourse is from a reservoir. Bringing in water to paddy plot so that the farmer could harvest 5 times in 2 years. It was quite effective but after sometimes the water feeder in the villages were not properly maintain. Thus, there are grasses, hycinth and of course the beautiful lotus flourish in the water feeder. The name feeder is very familiar and have become iconic that the Villages are named after it. The area of water "feeder" no 1 become "Pida" 1.
Long live the pida that it brings food, beauty and strength to Malaysians. |
