Photographer’s Note

This is again another view of my favorite Mergong river in Alor Star, where you can see a small Chinese temple almost floating in the water at the opposite side of the river.

Alor Setar is the capital of the Malaysian state of Kedah and provides easy access to the Thai border. Like all towns in Kedah, Alor Setar still retains its old world charms and is the place to visit to be 'Far from the Madding Crowd'. The town has developed along Jalan Pekan Melayu and naturally the Mergong river.

Nice classic Malaysian shot of the housing by the lake.
The colours and reflection in this one are very nice.

The mirror effect is fantastic and very well seen. I like the overall composition and the nice colours too. The temple is a bit too difficult to see but I believe you can have a closer shot of it in a future posting. Well done.

You'd shown a similar view earlier! It's amazing how tranquil the river is! The reflection of the clouds are absolutely mirror like. I was thinking about it, but you mentioned it already in your note about the Chinese Temple. Well done!

Hi Urs,

very nice view, good composition, I like a lot the reflection on water, sharpness seems to be a bit low, I don't know if it's due to compression.
