Hello friends in TE.
This little fishing village of Kuala Jerlun was hit by Tsunami in 2004. It wasn't as bad as our neighboring country but the reminders of the disaster was clearly visible during my visit in 2011. You can see the fishermen fixing their boat with skeletons of the old boat in the foreground. I'll post a few shots on film to TE from my visit.

The ribs of the old boat are very effective, creating a strong f/g triangle and pointing the way towards the details of the tiny harbour, the collection of more seaworthy boats and the repair work that is still necessary. A very sobering shot!
Have a lovely day,

A good capture of this interesting scene, which is really a feast for the eyes. The image seems to me be verging on over-exposure but that only helps intensify the impact of the image. Superb rendering of the textures in the weather-worn woodwork.

This is a good composition with an interesting content and note. It is a strong reminder of how fragile our lives can be. To my mind though, I find it rather overexposed.

La lumière est un brin forte dans cette composition, assez pour faire disparaitre les contrastes. On a l.impression que les embarcations brulent sous un soleil trop fort.

Excellent scene of boat reparation in a mangrove swamp landscape,
high luminosity, good exposition

I have to say I agree with those who say the shot is somewhat overexposed, Jusni, but I can certainly see what attracted you to the scene, with the line of small boats mirroring the line of plyons in FG, all set in front of a nice harborside. Amazing to think this was the scene of unrivaled destruction only a few years previously. Thanks!

good shot and result from classic camera. Interesting reportage about daily life in village port. Nice delicacy colours and the scan.

Among the ruins is a usable boat tended by the owner. I like the composition and symbolism. Good pov and dof with nice details. It's a little bit overexposed otherwise well done, tfs.

nice idea to include the ruins of this old boat in the foreground. I liked the framing here with the tilted boats ahead. nice job.

Somehow Jertun sounds familiar to me, but I'nm not sure if I already was there. Good POV with the broken boat in the FG adding DOF to the shot. Fine pastel colour hues. Well done
Have a great day
