Photographer’s Note
I am not sure what this building is, but I find it quite interesting that is why I took this picture.
It has a very historic architecture and is wonderfully landscaped. Perhaps colonial architectural style, rather than of Malay style, although I would like to be corrected.
It is located in Johor Bahru and is near a number of mosques.
I would think it could be a 'city hall' type building, or perhaps a regional parliament of some sort.
It would appear to be a public building, otherwise it could be converted into a very nice compound I'm sure!
Notice what appears to be a court yard in the centre of the building.
In any event, an interesting little corner of the world and I hope you enjoy.

Hello Russel
I think that you need to take a bit of time before taking the photos and think about what you want to take. Right now it seems that you are just pressing the shutter and hoping for the best. I know how this is because I used to do the same thing.
You should ask yourself before taking the photo:
1. Is the light favourable or not, if it isn't then dont take the photo.
2. Is the subject interesting or how can I make an interesting composition of it.
Here it seems as if you just took the photo. Potentially you could have composed the photo (or cropped it) to include just the building and the gardens around it and try to minimise the distracting elements around it.
If you try to be aware and control as many elements as possible in your photo then you will notice an improvement in the results
Regards
Daniel
