This was just at dusk while waiting for the heavy traffic on the Causeway between Malaysia and Singapore to reduce. Overlooking the strait between the two countries. The bulding is a Mosque and these colours are virtually as they appeared, maybe what is known as that Blue hour. A very attractive building this is just one small but prominant part of it.

Built between 1892-1900, and named after the Father of Modern Johore, the late Sultan Abu Bakar, this mosque is one of the most beautiful in Malaysia.

Good night shot! The exposure seem just right, which is not always easy to do at night. You did a good job of preserving the colour, and the light blue of the building really goes well with the deep blue of the sky. Excellent work!

A good shot with excellent lighting, nice blue sky and a lot of clear details.

Hi Murray,
Too bad you did not have a tripod, because you were there at the right hour and had a very attractive subject to shoot, as a result of wide aperture and low speed the top of the tower looks less sharp. Still at TE size it remains acceptable, I like how this clear structure raises in the dark blue sky, watch out for light OE on the right, shooting RAW will help you reducing it.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi, Murray
Fine work with this mosque, great compo and good exposure. I love the deep shadows here.

Hello Murray,

A very fine image. The exposure choice was wise; I may have burnt it out by attempting a long exposure of 10 or so seconds. You have maintained good levels of lighting, most effective in the arch and at the top of the tower. Very colonial looking. TFS.

Hello Murray,

I remember a 3-day trip to Johor Bahru, and I remember seeing this beautiful structure. (I was there to give a couple of talks at the Malaysian Institute of Technology.) I am very happy to see a post from Johor, and exposed so beautifully despite the subdued light.

Warm regards, Murray,

Bulent

Hi Murray,

The Tower of Johor is a beauty illuminated by the lights and projectors, you were able to showus all the details of its architecture. Well done, thanks for sharing.
