Photographer's Note

This Chinese Dragon dance, controlled by 8 person, was shot during one of the mid-autumn festival organized by a well known property developer in Johor Bahru. In Malaysia, we called it Mooncake festival where there will be typical Chinese "mooncake" made and sold everywhere in supermarket and also lanterns.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese peoples but now its celebrated everywhere else around the world mainly by the Chinese. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, during a full moon, which is in late September or early October in the Gregorian calendar, close to the autumnal equinox.

The Government of the People's Republic of China listed the festival as an "intangible cultural heritage" in 2006, and it was made a Chinese public holiday in 2008.
