Photographer’s Note
The first day of 2008 - 1st January - as seen from the window of my hotel room in Johor Bahru, Malaysia - a small regional city at the southern tip of Malaysia.
In the distance is the causeway to Singapore which is a few hundred yards away on the other side of the border.
There is a range of buildings of various sizes nearby and it was a pleasant place to spend New Year's eve.
