[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From the base camp of Mt Kinabalu at approx 5000ft above MSL, we trekked up the Mersilau Trail which will take about 6-7 hours(for an average hiker) to reach Laban Rata at 11,000 ft. From here, we stayed overnight(not really overnight, just a few hours of sleep)and started the ascend to the summit at 2.30am - obviously very dark, cold, wet and windy at times.

This shot was taken along the Mersilau Trail. You can see the summit at the top left corner, still a long long way from where we stood. On the bottom right is our team member and a TL member(Ms Jong). She was enjoying this breathtaking view and I wonder what went thru her mind at that very moment. The drop in front of her is easily a few hundred metres. Please dont jump!

Thanks for viewing.

Regards
Alfred

Hello Alfred, It sounds to me like it was a exiting trip with fantastic views. This you captured surely is. Clarity, colour & human element beautiful. I'm a little envious except for when you tell what the weather was like & lack of sleep. I think looking at this scene well worth it.
Thanks
Santo

Hey Alfred

Really good that you captured your leader in this shot. Makes it look more fascinating.
Like the scattered clouds in the at the summit and the greens are punchy in your capture.
Don't envy you for travelling back down from there at 2.30am in the cold and dark.
Regards
Jim

Hey Alfred,

You`ve captured incredible scenery here, it doesen`t get any better than this. A picture with perfect depth, sharpness and pp in general.
Very nice work.

Enjoy.

This is the place where there is a waterfall plunging far down from one of the mountains, at the other end of view. Good pov and choice of composition showing the slopes. A great view and a good place for a rest stop. The tip of mountain at top left just barely cropped.
