'Light+Vision' - one of my thoughts on photography.

Apply it to Blue+White. At mid-day near the beach before Lundu, the deep blue sky and pure white clouds was a perfect chance of 'Light' to be captured using polariser. All you need is to find a reasonable subject to compose a shot. Giving f/9 setting for more depth of field with the foreground's coconut palm, in vertical format to also include the sky and clouds, making up the 'Vision'. And perhaps more practice is needed for me to deliver a better view.

I still am puzzled how the coconut palm could still stand on its own, having been uprooted by storms, winds and waves and brought down from the edge of land to this sandy zone. On migration course? Anyway, at other spots, it was found that many palms were down and dried. Thank you for viewing. Regards, Bill

That's a great addition to your Malaysia portfolio, Bill. The vertical format and frame are well chosen. I love the clouds and the depth of vision. Great work!

Hey Phil,

What can one say, a gorgeous composition created with the vertical composition. Here, in this one, the clouds also play a prominent role. They are a nice element and very interesting at that. The angle is perfect, although not shot with a wide-angle lens, per se. I wonder how it would look in 10mm for example. But this is just as perfect. Congrats.

See you around.

Hi Bill,
A great shot which reminds me the movie 'Cast away' with Tom Hanks.
The place seems to be desert and so quiet. The view is absolutely wonderful, under a great sky.

Marianne

Congratulations and Hug!

nice shot i like the contrast of blue and white and your note is also very infoemative.

Hello Bill. The cloud is just stunning against the saturated blue sky. The foreground is the same and it is interesting if you can create HDR from this position. Very well done and thanks for sharing. Best regards. Jusni

Hello Bill,
Vertical composition works well in this scene with the main focus on the tall uprooted & still surviving palms.
Colours of the blue sky and white clouds look great. I like your choice of frame,
Another beautiful scene from this part of the world.
Thanks

Hi Bill,
beautiful composition for palms and clouds. Fantastic colours and well handled light

I think you have capture the essence of the place, the "Western Tip of Borneo". You have make full use of the blue and white backdrop for the isolated and dying coconut trees. Very pleasant.

Hi Bill.
An amazing malaysian landscape, with polarized sky and beautiful clouds.
Well done.
Best regards.
Bobo.

Hi Bill!
I agree with you about light and vision; when you have such a light you have only to find something to become a subject. Here palms are wonderful over blue sky and white clouds in different shapes.
Well... let me say also that you were in a gorgeous place!

Ciao from Italy!

Hi Bill,
this photography has an impressive force, the reasons are different:
The contrast of tonalities blue - white of the sky, the intense luminosity, the dynamism (of the palms and the clouds) provoked by the strong wind, and the vertical format.

Great work, Bill!!

Best regards, Jordi
