Sunset for Jusni Photo

Photographer’s Note

The sun seems to greet our TE visitors to Kuching with beautiful day and sunset colours. This time is no exception, our friend JusniNasirun should have no reason to be disappointed with this glowing sunset across the Sarawak River which meander through the City. It was a bit of rush, walking as fast as we could. The sun had dipped by the time we arrived here, but the glows after sunset was even better.

Both Jusni and Bill has posted theirs and I owe them my post. Hope other TE friends will also enjoy this.

Hi Alfred,
This photo evokes such a beautiful palate of colours. I love the soft golden yellow which complements the pink and blue above it. I also like that the river has a purple quality to it. The silhouetted landscape and boaters bring depth to the shot and give an idea as to the scale of the image.

Hi Alfred,

I clearly remembered how exited you were as we were heading for the spot. You were practically running along the riverside and I had a hard time catching up with you.

This is the same pier that I posted but you have anchored the boat right on the sweet spot of the frame. Your prime optics did not disappoint us and the glorious color of the D700 sensor is a clear winner here.

Thanks for the hospitality and I enjoyed the time in Sarawak and I can see that you have very good sense of humor too... just like Bill.

Hello Alfred, I think you are correct & a wise decision to wait for the sun to set, you don't have to worry about that bright spot in the sky the sometimes burn your eyes to look at. A very beautiful silhouette, with the boat a lovely inclusion & nice warm colours without being too bright. I also like the colours in the sky as they change at different levels . A very nice sunset & one that I know Jusni will love.

As you know I'm such a sucker for a beautiful sunset, and this one is glorious.
Lovely silhouetted details to accentuate the colour of the sky and the reflection.

Not flattering you but your picture is undoubtedly the best composed and technically flawless. I think the elevated PoV and inclusion of the sky is a great plus here.

this is a splendid sunset,I like very much the contrast between the black silhouettes and the wonderful yellow colours of the sky and the reflection!The sky has a superb gradient of blue,yellow and pink,this is really beautiful,andthe small boatis very well placed!Very,very well done!

this is really a beautiful sunset and I envy you because we do not experience these gently glowing colors in the Northern hemisphere. Looking at Bill’s and Jusni’s impressions I am amazed that there is so much diversity. But this is really what I like and enjoy here on this site. The human eye is a very interesting invention of nature. My compliments!
