Photographer’s Note
In Buddhist belief, fengshui somehow always playing a part when citing location to build a temple. Here it is a well chosen spot. Like...in photography, we choose a good POV and composition?
Tua Pek Kong temple of Sibu sits alongside the riverbank, as if to protect the arrivals of boats at the confluence of Rajang and Igan Rivers. At the front landscape, 4 words engrossed on the golden vase caught my attention. It says '4 Season's Peace', very optimistic message to wish all boats going upstream or downstream to sea a safe bon voyage, and also to viewers like you all a balanced life. Modern day Buddhism is really quite progressive and innovative to catch up with the times. Today, the temple organized pencil and water color art painting competition for school children to draw the scenery around the temple premise. I was a bit late and the event was over, so I took some shots of the optimistic sign language. The strategic placement of such a symbolic artwork is quite interesting. Thank you for viewing.

Hey Bill,
Like the composition here, very simple, yet incredibly effective. A beautiful motive by itself, but when it stands in such a lush environment it really becomes something special. A picture you can delve in, nice work.
See you around.

This is a very careful composition Bill, and it works very well. All the elements seem to be arranged perfectly, down to the overhanging tree to fill in an area of blank sky. Chinese inscriptions do appear to be rather optimistic. regards kevin

Hi Bill
A very good note indeed as the place where temples were built has been traditionally the result of meticulous search considering geographic and energy characteristics

Hello Bill. I like the D80 kit lens. Almost sold off mine but glad I still keep it. Excellent sharpness with stunning depth at f/7.1. That's an excellent optic if you asked me. I wonder how much do I need to fork out a CPL for this. Well done and best regards. Jusni
