Hello friends in TE.

Sibu’s recently refurbished Central Market, on Jln Channel opposite the Express Boat Passenger Terminal, is the largest and most interesting in Sarawak. By combining the former wet market and the native Lembangan market in clean and hygienic new surroundings, the Sibu Municipal Council has created a visual feast for visitors. Highlights are the Iban ladies selling exotic fruits, jungle produce and handicrafts, and the Chinese poultry sellers who offer their live chickens and ducks neatly wrapped up in tubes fashioned from old newspapers.

Une chose est certaine, les poulets sont frais dans cet étal et la dame a trouvé le moyen de les tenir tranquille. Une belle scène de la vie quotidienne dans cette partie du monde.

This is a very nice and interesting photo. I don't think I have ever before seen live poultry wrapped up in newspapers. It looks very nice and seems like a reasonable way to treat the birds during their last few hours. The atmosphere of the market-place looks quite nice too, judging from the relaxed chat between the three women. Your photo is perfectly exposed with good sharpness and fine colours.

Hello Jusni,
This is quite an unusaual way of displaying living merchandise in a market. This poultry is so nicely wrapped with a coloured ribbon that it seem to have been prepared to be offered as a gift ! Very good and interesting image showing one side of the daily life in a Malaysian market. I noticed that the woman on the right is wearing a dress which matches her hens perfectly ! Thanks for sharing this fine capture.

This is a delight to look at - and so funny. Look at those poor roosters just sitting there, wrapped up like little parcels. The things that strikes me most about the photo is the superb quality of the light and the colours, which are incandescnt. A photo which jumps out of the screen at me, congratulations.

Market is my fav where the action is. This is catchy, good observation on your part and interesting how you have brought this shot to good life.
