2009 Unknowns Photo

Photographer’s Note

As we enter into 2009, this time we are facing many unknowns and uncertainly in financial outlook that affects security in daily life and job. What are on your minds now? May I hope you are looking after yourself and family very well and have contingencies for any eventuality. All the best to you.

When I travel alone, whether driving alone in the countryside or flying in the air sitting alone, many unknowns tend to enter in the mind and deep thoughts always cloud the moment. But since taking up photography and having a camera in hand, the doubts are replaced by keen observation of the nature and surrounding. The eye opens up and the mind is no longer bordering on the unknowns.

I count myself lucky to have good eyesight and able to appreciate the gift of nature, be it white thick clouds in the sky like this one, or tropical rainforests, or riverside view of sunset ...etc. What I see with the eys and translated to photography through the digital camera, is a very interesting way to express myself and convey to you what I see and what I put on the frame.

Many of you are very good in putting the image into a frame and I am learning the way to do it, albeit slow and my own style, but it definitely bears fruit when I look back into the past 365 days. Thank you TE and I am here for the photography and sharing.

If a photographer defends a cause and claim to be passionate to human sufferings but when I detect a fake/clone accounts used by the same person to score points here on TE [for vainity?], I doubt the integrity, trustworthiness and honesty of such a person.

One thing is certain, in 2009 your photography skill will go up another level! So keep going.

Selamat Datang Bill.A thought provoking note accompanied by a image with strong symbolism. The clouds of hate, suspicion, intolerance have blocked the light all around our globe. If only we had the key on how to part these clouds and bring peace upon this fragile earth of ours. Great shot, great sense of flight. This is a nice POV , the combination of the fantastic clouds and the wing adds a charming atmosphere to the image.

Hi Bill

A good aerial shot, with the wingtip at left making a fine focal point. I like the fluffy white cloud at right. It enhances the tonal range. Good sharpness & colour. Tfs!

the quality of the photo is fantastic,this is difficult through a plane window!I am impressed by the whiteness of the cloud,and I find the sky behind it very beautiful!The life is like a trip in a plane,sometimes it's quiet,sometimes there are some turbulances,and I hope that everything will be better in 2009!

Thought-provoking note Bill, and an excellent image with which to illustrate it. It seems you have chosen your moment carefully with two kinds of clouds. The plane is moving into the clearer sky, so let's hope that symbolism will hold true for 2009.

such photos are my most favourite (along with photos of tall ships and airplanes as such)!

I have never seen such "scenes" in the air! I know that clouds can look incredible, but... this photo combines all the best objects one can find while on the plane :)

Dans les nuages un avion passe d'une année à l'autre comme dans un rêve. J'aime la beauté de cette photo avec des nuages d'une très grande netteté. Seule l'aile de l'avion nous rattache à la réalité.

Hi Bill,
Love the clouds so fluffy and so dramatic at the same time. A good observation, and the wing of the plane included gives good reference to where you were so high up amongst the clouds. I also like the depth effect with the layers of clouds in light and dark.

Guess lots of people have this idea but what makes your photo really different is the sky - it's perfect, even the way you placed that big white cloud and the wing. The red colour of the wing is a perfect detail also. Guess you got a very good photo of what could be just a simple one!

Cloud formations are always interesting, and not only because they mean lot for the life on our planet!
They are difficult to photograph since the details may be hard to record but the exposure here is well done...

It's one of the best, if not the best, photo taken from an commercial aircraft that I have ever seen, with the wing making a great graphic arrangement with the picturesque clouds. It's a very appropriate image to the thoughtful text of the note. It also happens to me to reflect about life and many things that I usually don't think about whenever I travel, drive or walk.

Nice image, simple, beautiful and with a great meaning. I liked the contrast betweeen the natuyral shapes of the sky and the fragille shapes of the plane against it. I hope our fly across 2009 will be with few turbulences

The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the cloud formation in a blue sky. The different shapes of the clouds are assets to the composition. The light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
