Photographer’s Note
A young tree with many fine roots growing radially out of the muddy sand at Santubong beach, shot using polarizer filter to bring out the contrast and saturation of sea water. It rained a little just before this shot, and it was cloudy. Quite interesting to note that this part of beach has less coconut palms and more of this type of tree everywhere. In less than 1 hour while we walked along this stretch, the tide began to rise and we had to retreat in case the water level rise too quickly. Perhaps one day we will try sunset here.

Hello Bill,
The light in this has a lovely soft quality, but everything is very clear. The trees look delicate against the big sky and flat wetlands.
Beautiful!
Best wishes...Maggie

hello Bill,
are those roots sticking out of the water? very interesting, I've never seen anything like this, so thanks for this shot, I learned something new today. I like a lot how the sky gradually turns from clear blue to puffy white clouds, the transition is so smooth. the horizon seems a bit curved (not tilted), although that's not a major point. moody shot, I like it.

Kristine

Hi Bill,
You know that I look forward to have a chance for a composition like that. There is an interesting minimalism in here. You made very good use of the rule of thirds and place the trees very well in the frame. Beautiful indeed!

Beautiful cloud formation and almost 3D. Lovely shades of blue. the larger tree made the best of this composition. Nice turquoi green of the sea. Peace before the storm looks like. I detect slightly high noise level, perhaps cause by sharpening or low ISO. Can be soften by noise reduction I think. Otherwise really great image, I'm just picking nit picking. Thanks Bill.

Hello Bill. Those spikes on the wet sand attracted my attention. You have used the rule of three very well in placing these trees perfectly in the frame. I like the water and the horizon with changing hues of blue reaching up the white puffy cloud. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello Bill,
I like the color blue oil of the sky. It is too an excellent composition, and astonishing. These trees grow under not very common conditions. The colors are harmonious and pleasant. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hello Bill,
your photographic eyes are really brilliant. you can turn something normal, simple and mundane into something of great beauty and excitement. congratulations...that is a real beauty in photography.
As for this one the sky gives a great impact to the shot. Next is the point of view where you place the trees to suit the view. Anf the graphico -colours combination that total up to the scenic cspture that bring into a great result. It is always wonderful to share your idea and listeningto your tips and advice. I havent download yet the D-80 ver.

Bonjour Bill,
une photo impressionnante, cette étendue gorgée d'eau.
J'aime beaucoup l'ambiance un peu dramatique de ce ciel.
La photo est à mon avis un peu trop 'sharpen'.
Regards.
Daniel.
