Photographer’s Note
Probably my 3rd re-visit to this place. As soon as we arrived at upriver of Kampung Giam, I pointed my camera from the riverbank above for a view of the riverbed which was quite dry at this hour. Picture at one time, probably, the water level would be at where I stood, and especially after a heavy tropical rainstorm. You will see 3 boats tied by rope to a tree when the villagers are done with work and return from work in the farm or fishing downstream or just doing some daily chores. Without the boat color, the view will be a bit monotone and perhaps dull. These boats are home made by the villagers using local timber from the forest. What do you think?
Thank you for viewing and critique, if any.

Nice capture Bill. True the boats add a splash of vivid colour but the scene has nice earthy tones also. Good composition with the boats placed of-center. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hello Bill,
It is still a beautiful composition which uses the colors of the boats. The enlightened zones prevent the monotony of the colors. Water brings the element living quite pleasant in any photograph. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hello Bill. This is beautiful high angle shot. Three is better than two and the colorful sampans are just brilliant. The light catching on the clear water is stunning. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

hello Bill,
the boats certainly add a colourful accent to the scene, and I also like how their smooth elongated shapes fit the feeling of flowing water. the play of light and shadow is great, but I'd play with contrasts and sharpening a little more, the shot seems a bit soft. minor point though :)
with best regards,
Kristine

Hi Bill,
As in the other posts of yours of this lovely place, the POV and compo are very well chosen . The colours and shapes of the boats are quite eye catching and the light effects done the sunlight breaking the dark shadows and glowing on the running water are wonderful.

Hi Bill
A very crisp clear image and the colourful boats are well placed to the side. The villagers certainly like to paint their boats distinctive colours. A nice composition.
