Photographer’s Note
The Chinese welcome the year of the Golden Ox, with celebration traditionally lasted 15 days. Home, business premises, government buildings, public places, streets and even some schools were decorated with lanterns or other forms of decorations. These deco are always in the auspicious red and gold colour to ward off the bad spirit according to legendary beliefs.
This shop in downtown Kuching has gone an extra mile to impress customers and perhaps hoping for a better luck in the Year of Ox.
Photo taken with a 50mm prime lens at ISO1000, 1/30 sec and f/8. The f/stop could have been lower as I forgot to change it from an earlier shot.

Hi Alfred,
I look at your shot and I realise how much I miss Asia, there is so much colour and life there. Your capture describes my feeling so well. Here, if you put up a facade like that, within two minutes the local council rangers would be there telling you it breaks some ordinance and you have to take it down immediately.
You produce very good sharp images, and this is another one.

Peter

Hello Alfred, Love the bright lively colours in this shot, 15 days celebrating the New Year?, I think we still have a lot to learn from you. HeHe. Not sure that you would have achieved much more with a different aperture setting as there in nothing wrong with this, colour, light, clarity all very good.
Thanks
Take care
