[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The ruins of rock created by waves at the bottom and wind abrasion at the top left the mark here at the northern Tip of Borneo, Sabah. Taken at the level of the slippery rocks, shown as dark and brownish below water here, the irregular shapes and surfaces look fresh and clean, due to constant daily action. The submergency of rocks may have taken thousands of years but what we see now is going to become a visitors' attraction. The hot and cloudy afternoon was not helping much for the 6 hours that we stayed to wait for sunset. Can you imagine the 2 rocks looking like human faces from side view?

Try your next vacation to Sabah? Fly direct to Kota Kinabalu or Kuala Lumpur and finding local tour agents or accomodation will be easy, but if you wish to climb Mt Kinabalu peak, make advance bookings at least 3 months ahead. For the east coast island dive tours, book 1 week ahead for Sipadan, the other islands no booking needed. Many places of interest for photography.

hello Bill,

It is a fantastic site! The two rocks do have the appearance of faces, quite grotesque ones!

I do like how the rocks, in a diagonal formation, separate the sky and the sea! They are sharply exposed and have rugged, tonal details.

Lovely composition and good, natural colours.

kind regards,
Bev :-)

Merhaba Bill,
An interesting of view the rocks... Very good sharpness, point of view and light. Nice work!
Greetings from Türkiye.
Ahmet

Hey Bill,

A glorious sight, probably quite banal for you, but something special for me. Nice sharpness and clarity, and I especially like the background, although a bit obscured, it gives a nice hint of the beautiful surroundings.

Best regards.

Hi Bill.
A luminous landscape, with nice sea colors from green to blue.
A perfect reproduction of the cliffs' surface.
Well done.
Best regards.
Bobo.

Hi Bill,
Wonderful coastal shot with the turquoise and white water contrasting beautifully with the brown and gold rocks. Excellent sharp details to this lovely ocean landscape.
Regards, Tom

Your color here is dazzling, Bill and the light is just right to bring out the dramatic and sculptural quality of the rocks. It certainly is a wild and lovely place . regards kevin

Hi Bill,

Even though I am a Sabahan, I think you have explored more areas of my home then I have. I've been to the Tip of Borneo and I never thought there is a view as shown in your photo. Then again, I did not go right down to the water at the bottom. An excellent point of view. I noticed your exposure speed is 1/13 secs. Did you use a tripod for this photo?

TFS.

Regards,
Alvin

Hi Bill!

I am always enchanted when seeing strange rocky formations like the one in your photo, remind me that nature is the greatest artist of all times! Impressive photo, great composition and framing, great light managment, great definition, I can almost feel the textures of these rocks. Congratulations!

Hello Bill,
Ces roches ont une texture et des formes très particulières,
Excellent cadrage et sujet très intéressant,
Amicalement,
Robert

Hello Bill. Lovely texture of this rock. Well lit exposing the texture and detail with the clear water in the foreground. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello Bill, Interesting rock formation & curios patters formed by erosion, very well captured & presented for all to see in fine detail & very natural looking colour. I like the effect of the water captured by slow shutter speed, something I have not tried yet, usually it is too dark when I go out & I'm always in a hurry.;-)). By the way I have just seen Alfred's sunset And I will be going out tonight after midnight. HeHeHe.
Thanks
Regards
Santo
I hope to catch up with Alfred even if it is for a short time only.

Hello Bill,
J'aime bien comme la nature a su faconner ces rochers, cela me rappelle un peu la Costa Brava en Espagne.
Avce un peu d'imagination ou peu entrevoir des visages sur ces deux rochers.
A+ Joseph

Hello Bill,
Interesting rock formation.
The rocks look a bit like faces; a nature version of the big statues on Easter Island.
Beautiful colour contrast between the sea and the rocks.
Regards, Paul

Hi Bill,

The capture of the water movement is an asset to the composition. The point of view is showing the details ands colors of the rocks carved by the sea. The picture is clear and sharp. The luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre
