Photographer’s Note

What do you shoot in the rainforest of Sabah? Generally there are two types of rainforest. The highland and the lowland. The highland rainforest, sitting around Mount Kinabalu is pretty quiet compared to the lowland rainforest, which is teeming with floras and faunas.

You don't get much to see crawling or walking on the floors of a highland rainforest, except birds and the incidental monkeys on the branches above.

But try the lowlands, from the plain of Tambunan to Danum Valley. Warmer and humid compared to the highland, you get much to see sneaking in its undergrowth.

Beside this gecko here, you might just get to see, among many other wildlifes, elephants, Sumatran Rhinos, Orang Utans and millions of leeches.

When you are in Sabah, go see these places;
1. Tabin Wildlife Reserve
2. Danum Valley
3. Maliau Basin
4. Imbak Valley
