Tip Of Borneo
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Three children from the Suluk village fronting the sea, took a swing from one of the many Casuarina trees that lined Kalampunian Beach, which its sandy white beach leads to the promontory they called Tip Of Borneo, you see in the distant.
The big monsoon high tide and surf last November had clawed to sea a major part of the beach, taking most of the low grassy knolls and grassland that fronted the beach, leaving most of the copse of standing trees near the beachfront, naked to its roots.
What was once a grassland along the dirt and flotsam line in the photo, is now a barren exposed sandy ground. |

You are a good master of action - this shot is made all the more interesting by inclusion of the kids having a swing, the element of surprise and not many will be able to achieve that. The balance of great landscape view nicely captured to finish the shot in good style.
Well done. TFS

I think this is one of the truly great shots I've seen here on TE. It's just a wonderful photo! The setting is quite amazing...but the fact that you have these three little ones just having the time of their lives swinging around makes it just priceless. You couldn't have put them on the rope yourself in more perfect positions for a photo!
Just a marvelous shot!
Hi Bani,
In few more years to come, Kudat would be having one the prestigious elegant Balinese villa and spa stretching from Kulambu beach all the way to Simpang Mengayau. The designs and concept is definitely for superior class niche market. I believe it will be a boost to Kudat's tourism as a whole, but I have a funny feeling about it as well.

I like to hear your view about it, Bani?
From Pentax to Canon, your pictures consitently demonstrated an extremely pleasant soft colours. Wondering how you do that.
Beside the intersting focus on the children in action, I think the patterns of shadows contributed just as much to a great shot such as this.

Alfred
I'm looking through your gallery and I don't understand how a shot like this doesn't have many more points and comments than it has... It is nicely composed photo but also very meaningful, showing the power of nature with the mansoon sweeping the beach and the small children playing in what is left as the playground.

NBM
Hi Rabani,
I admire the way you capture motions. I myself am still getting to grips with stop-motion photography. Looking through your notes and photo info is giving me much needed information on how to improve this particular skill. Thanks for sharing!
