Photographer’s Note

Zoom of the two off-shore islands a few km from Kota Kinabalu. This city has what many other places would like to have, about 5 of 7 days a week has a colourful sunset like this one. This is looking out towards the South China Sea, a little south of the Spratly Islands, one of the richest untapped gas & oil fields in the world. So it really is a golden future out there.
The colour here is natural, not tweaked at all.

The South China Sea was the place where I saw the most beautiful sunsets day after day. I was out on the helideck every day with my camera. I even had the alarm clock set to sunset in order to not miss any!
It is a beautiful shot where gold is free for everybody. Well done.

This brings back image of Hawai'i for me. Sitting on the beach at Maui's Ka'anapali Resort watching the sun set behind Lana'i. This is wonderful. Well done.

Hi Murray,

The point of view takes our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The plam tree in the foreground is framing well the sea. The sunset is givin nice colors to the sky, the sea and a set of shadows to the forest. have a nice day.

Pleasant capture of the sunset over the South China sea!
Fine warm colours, and the simplicity of the composition conveys the mood well...
The exposure is accurate, and the glimpse of the sundial makes a fine element!
