Photographer’s Note
He was one of the 116 runners that day, tough enough to complete the 21km of lung bursting bone jarring run of the Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon which is dubbed as the World Toughest Mountain Race. This year, it's the 22nd edition.
Isidro Patena Vildosola comes from The Philippine and he made 28th in 3hrs 35min 15s. In the photo, he has another 300m to go, to step on the summit of Low's Peak. He was flagged off at 7am and he made summit around 9.20pm. Not bad at all considering he has only his left arm to balance his run along the rocky and slippery mountain trail either on his way up or especially down the mountain. Or catch his fall.
Even the 2nd runner up, Toru Miyahara who made it in 2hrs 49min 2s, slipped and fell a few times on the way down the slippery trail.

Hi Rabani.
What a great shot. It's so well composed, putting the athlete in the corner and looking up at the slope to get more or less his point of view. Great close crop and excellent detail/sharpness. A very good picture and I love the note, too.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Rabani
A great shot clearly showing the rocky terrain of Mt Kinabalu. Interesting story. I hope to climb this mountain one day and so enjoy any photos I can find of it. TFS, Marlene

Hi Rabani,
Hey! What a great shot... Just as he entered the frame, clack! you've caught him right there, right where it looks good in your photo. The wide aperture offers an "heroic" view, with the mountain looking even further and more steep, with your low angle - at the knees level from your subject.
The fact that we can see the missing arm on the viewer side is also a good "documentary" and factual quality. The frame with mountain top is great.
Cheers!

Assalamualaikum Rabani,
may we get the blessing and the best of all trainings of the Ramadhan.
Your notes really means something , very pragmatic and real. Sometimes if youre fully armed with the gears...yes youre really the Senoi Praq launching a combat to attack the charlies in Gubir areas, near Pedu Lake, Kedah.
You last sentence is the most detonating one, blast in one blow that leave a mark...
Photographers never leave his camera at home.
Best regards,
Foozi.
