It can get pretty eerie sometimes.

The Summit Trail to Laban Rata, the base camp of Mount Kinabalu is roughly 6km of elevated rough mountain trail. For any tourist, it usually takes between 3 to 6 hours to reach base camp. On the way, there are 7 shelters with toilets and untreated mountain water supply.

The section you see in the photo is roughly another hour to Laban Rata. Usually the weather along this section of the trail is misty and slightly drizzling. And kind of eerie at time with the misty silence.

it's a very mysterious forest !! it's magic atmsosphere! a very fine work. i like the colours. what is the monster who live here ???

A fantastic one rabani.I love mists and i love taking misty shots.It really thrilling and challenging sometimes.The foreground is beautifully higlighted.A human subject walking would have enhanced the pic to a great extent.However, good work.

hi Bani,
Spooky! Imagine walking ALL ALONE on the way to the top on this path, as you walk deeper and higher into the mountains, the fog gets thicker and you can hardly see more than a few feet in front but you keep walking, hoping to see the Laban Rata very soon. Your heart pound faster and faster, you want to hurry but your feet seems to get heavier and heavier... Then you hear strange sounds of the undergrowth being tramped on and yet you cant see anything. AARGH !!!! Next moment there was a loud scream !!!!

Rabani - a great forest capture. It looks like something from Lord of the Rings - very dark and atmospheric indeed!
I never saw it quite as dark as this, but the heavy mist was often present.

Hi Rabani,
this one looks exactly like taken from the movie Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, the scene when Frodo with other hobbits are on the way too Bree, after they find mushrooms and just before the black rider approaches them. It looks exactly the same!
