Photographer’s Note

Unduk Ngadau is the Kadazandusun version of the Beauty Queen.In this pageant, all the districts in Sabah, send its contestant to compete in the beauty contest, conducted during the Harvest Festival.

This picture was taken during last year Harvest Festival. To take this shot, it was handhold at F2.8 at 1/24s at ISO200. The hall where the contest was conducted was dimly lit and whatever available light, was coming from the stage's manual controlled spotlight and the numerous flashes from more than 30 over photojournalists and photographers, lining up below the stage.
