Trekking or just nature walking under the canopy of a rainforest, you will discover abundance of strange looking and interesting things, either on the forest floor or above it. As long as you slowly make your way through pretty well equipped. For one thing, rainforest walking is no walk in the park. There will be leeches and crawlies taking a sudden interest in you too. So put on your leech socks and apply your bug juice. You need your full attention when walking and shooting inside rainforest.
To shoot within the confinement of the twilight atmosphere, you need a wide to medium zoom lens. Preferably fast lens or if not, the ISO which permits you to shoot without motion blur or too grainy for any good. If your lens has stabilizer, don't go lower than 1/40 or you will be risking it.
Some people think, walking with a trek pole or a hiking stick is a fashion statement or a rural runway walk kind of thing. It's not. A walking stick, used appropriately is like an extension of your arms. It helps in taking off some load of your feet. Beside, a walking stick helps in moving aside leaves, branches and movable obstacles within your reach. Not forgetting to mention helping you getting up or down inclines. Or holding at bay, anything ferals coming at you.
