Part of Labuan’s Victoria Bay.
Stormy or calm, business must go on for this boatman, but not for fishermen. As seen on the right, the trawler is supposed to be out in the sea fishing but the weather has been unfavourable, thus denying them of any income from the sea. For the boatman, just a simple raincoat is sufficient to continue business.

The boatman, in a yellow raincoat, is ferrying passengers to and from across the narrow bay, just a few hundred meters across. Small wooden boats, like seen in this photo, are alternative means of transportation by people from a Water Village or ‘Kampung Air’ to get to the town centre and back. I took this shot from a boat landing station in the town center, which is near a fish market. The water village is barely seen on the other side of the water, on the left.

Hi iwan,

Nice composition here.. the trawler on the right, the leaves on top and then your subject almost to the middle. Sadly, Sabah is again experiencing a very bad haze, otherwise the background would have been clearer with visible cloud. I wonder where did this thick haze come from this time?

oo.. Labuan pula ko, Onu mangan hino iwan? bah logot-logot kio. Hilo oku nopo daa. tatap sudah aramaitie! hehe.

Kihoiii..
