Photographer’s Note

I was going through some old photos today, and the most memorable ones are those of kids. They reminded me the reason I wanted to travell, sadly to say i've lost it along the road. This is one that reignite my passion that I once had, when i was young.

This photo was taken with my film camera. It is not of great quality, but it's one of my favourite.

It was taken in Muang Ngoi, a village only accessible by boat. When i was there 3 years ago, they only had electricity for a couple of hours a night. There was no paved roads, and children and live stock run around.

The girl is holding a polaroid photo which I took of her. I travel with a polaroid camera and leave them with a souvenir as they probably have never even held a camera before.

To me, this girl's got the most beautiful smile. There's shyness and sparkles in her eyes.
