New Paying House at Wat Sisaket

Wat Sisaket - is the only temple in Vientiane that survived the sacking of the city by the Siamese in 1828, and is the oldest and one of the most interesting in the country. In the interior of Ho Trai, the main hall and inset into the walls of the surrounding courtyard are hundreds of little niches and shelves containing a total of 6,840 Buddha images and Buddhist inscriptions of the 18th century.

As I found so many pictures from the main temple in the forum I would like to upload for you the praying house which was just built five years ago just on the right of the main temple.

Splendid photo with a composition that is spot-on, well chosen POV too. The light is wonderful and brings out the colours of the praying house very well. I like the surroundings with the palm trees and flowers. The lonely person is a nice detail too. Lovely photo!

Lovely tropical scene with the lush green palms framing this intricately designed temple. The vivid blue sky makes for a beautiful backdrop and the flowers and brightly clad monk make a very intersting foreground.

A fine point of view adds this strong diagonal to the composition, most attractive!
Good light makes the colourfol details in the architecture really stand out, where the red and golden contrast so well with the amazing blue sky...

Hi, Achim. A fairly new conxtruction, but which keeps to tradition. The vegetation on eithre sides of the building frames it very well and the monk gives a good idea of the scale. Good contrast between the sky and the white and red of the tempel and excellent colours.

I remember this well from my own time in Laos. It sent me back to my own photos but it seems I didn't upload one from here for some reason. You have handled the strong light well as there are extreme variations to manage. The inclusion of the monk is excellent for scale.

It's amazing the variety of countries you constantly upload, Achim and it's also nice to see the places I recently visited. This is indeed, a good diferent one. Excellent perspective and wonderful contrast of the red/golden roof with the blue sky.

Hi Achim,

Since a good perspective, we see a great work leave architectural characteristic of the Asian countries.

I like tones as contrasted, but there is too much darkness on the right side, however, it is a nice job.
