Hi Vincent,

This is really holy, cool...
I remember the dats that I stayed at my aunts house at CHALIAKARA and KADAMPANADU, villages...
There we used to have these cool dips in natural waters.

Salut Vincent,

Un superbe point de vue sur une forêt luxuriante à faire rêver. La végétation est le centre d'intérêt avec la rivière couleur d'émeraude. J'ai tenté un workshop afin d'éclaircir les parties plus sombres, mais j'ai perdu en netteté lors de la sauvegarde.

Encore une belle image pleine d'exotisme. J'aime bien ton cadrage avec la rivière comme miroir. Belle gestion des lumières et des couleurs de cette végétation bien fournie. Ca te change des paysages de ton enfance autour du lac du Jugon (en passant, heureux que mon dernier post ravive en toi quelques souvenirs...).
Belle photo et merci pour le bonus bien intéressant sur cette grotte colonisée par Bouddha.

Bonjour Vincent,
des terres très accidentées. Un cadrage qui inclut un maximum de nature et le format vertical convenait vraiment bien.
J'aime beaucoup les contrastes et cette exposition qui tire un peu vers la sous-exposition, donnant plus de contrastes.

Beautiful rainforest. I like your vertical perspective of this place. The well saturated colours and sharpness of the image are very good. The view is pretty and offer me an example of pure rainforest jungle with a bit of civilization in the middle. que j'aime ces paysages à la végétation luxuriante qui m'attirent encore et encore vers l'Asie!Ici,tout est vert,même l'eau,et le ciel n'en paraît que plus bleu!Le reflet du palmier est d'une grande importance,c'est lui qui capte mon regard en premier!Surement un petit coin de paradis!

I remember this spot, and we had a nice swim. (I do recall the water was lovely and cool). I also remember the steep climb to the caves. I think this shot is just perfect in its natural color, and the light is balanced very well between the sunlight and shade. A very good representation of this spot, in a lovely and gentle photo. Salut Vincent,
Despite the gorgeous candid beauty of the place, it doesn't look to be the easiest place to make great compos (too much green, few 'pictoric' elements), but you achieved doing it. I like how the sun makes the huts and the banana trees stand out and makes the water bicolour. The soft reflections on the water, namely of the little piece of sky are wonderful as well. Hats off for the light management, I suspect that a less perfect exposure and PP would result in very dark shadows and OE highlights.

This looks as if it was tricky to get the exposure right. You have done a wonderful job with plenty of detail in the shadows and no oe.
Good use of vertical format so there is plenty of sky and we are able to see the swim hole complete with attractive reflections. I also like the detail of the leaves in the top right corner. The WS is also good and would have made an excellent main post. Good work

A first class photograph, but the reclining Buddha is at least as compelling as this one that you've posted. The name is appropriate for this image, the variegated greens, the lush vegetation, and just the exotic aspect of the image — thank you for giving us all a vicarious excursion to this exotic land.

Je suis vraiment admirative devant la qualité de cette photo et l'incroyable contraste que tu réussis à donner malgré l'importance du vert et du bleu. Souvent, on obtient qq chose de plat et brumeux surtout sous ce type de climat.
Ici, les ombres sont parfaites, le soleil filtre entre certaines feuilles... c'est un vrai rêve!

I can see why you stayed so long in Laos, Vince, you were getting lots of nice shots. I like the modulation on this one, with such soft variations in tone and color. It conveys so well the tropical jungle feeling. regards kevin

Great! A very attractive scene here. You communicate the humid, tropical feel very well with the dense vegetation and mostly the inclusion of the banana tree which I am sure makes up a large part of the diet around here. I would love to explore some of the cave systems you mention in your note. This clear water is very enviable; it looks like the perfect place for a refreshing afternoon swim. I wonder what types of tropical fish one would find living in there. Great use of colour and in particular light/shadow relationship. TFS.

This shot absolutely 'reeks' of fertility and steamy jungle heat. The composition is marvellous. The stillness of the water and the reflection are just beautiful, and the foliage of the plants is a feature, especially in the top right corner. Superb exposure, and very well seen composition in all this forest.

Very good exposure control here, with lots of details in the shadows, clearly visible, while the sky is beautifully blue as well. Love the banana tree & how light falls on it & it's reflection looks great as well. Very good WS post of the reclining Buddha. Good work!
