Photographer’s Note
The Sim (and a closer view in the workshop)
Wat Xieng Thong (Xieng Thong Ratsavoravihanh, or Volavihan, the Golden City or Golden Tree Monastery) dates back to the 16th century. King Setthathilat (1548-1571) founded it in 1560 to commemorate the memory of the Chanthaphanith, a betal merchant and the legendary first king of Luang Prabang. It is one of the most important of Lao monasteries with over twenty structures on the grounds including shrines, pavilions and residences, in addition to its gardens of various flowers, ornamental shrubs and trees.

Hallo Achim,

Hi Achim
Wonderful colour contrasts, between the reds, yellows & orange of the Wat, & the blue sky. Good composition & pov, with reasonable sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Achim,
Beautiful richly detailed building. There is feeling of timelesness here. And tropical sunshine. I think direction of light is not optimal, as shadows approach the walls. A little earlier would probably have been better.

Hi, Achim. Two nbeautiful temples with very rich colours. You've framed them very well with trees on both sides of the phot to close the image. I think it could be a little sharper on the screen (this certainly due to compression).

Hello Achim
Thanks to your wide angle view you've shown us the two adjacent sims. I managed to capture only the one on the left with the tree of life mosaic. Thanks to your POV, you've also shown us the twin perspective with quite some depth. Very nice colours in the strong sun. Good work!
Best Regards
Angshu
