Photographer’s Note
Good morning Tad Lo!
This is the name of the village and this was the early morning view out of my 4$ bamboo hut at "Tim guesthouse".
Tad Lo is situated on the Bolaven plateau, which is famous for it`s coffe and tea plantations.
The coffe tate very good and you do some nice walks in this area.
Please don`t tell me about the overexposed sky and the tree exactly in the center.I know....but I had 4 very nice and relaxed days there and like the image.

Thats crisp and absolutely superb. The colours and textures mix so well to create a magical splash all over. The perspective gives it a superb feel. good balanced work.

This photograph is interesting by its sky and the fact that it shows these houses traditional of the campaigns of Laos.
And in more the compostition is well made

Hi Andreas,
I like this one! Nice feel of the village ideal. A bit comparable with remote locations in Indonesia, where I've worked, but I guess Indonesia is a bit more developed.
Must have been a nice holiday! I can live with the over-exposure! Not a problem, since I also have it quite often and to me it's not that bad. But I'm surprised with the amount of barrel distortion! Feels really like the right building is falling to the inside of the photograph. I'm not sure yet whether I like that or it is distracting too much. Just wondering how it would have looked if you'd corrected for distortion. Next to that, nice one!!

I'd say that the centralized composition works in this case, Leo, rules are made to be broken but only when you know why you do it, here the composition dictates the central placement of the tree as a focal point in the end of the perspective... besides, the light is really superb here!
Cheers

Hello Andreas,

Schoener Nachmittag, Barbara.

Hallo Andreas,
I am glad to return to see your works here, welcome.
And this photo is very elegant, has a good setting and an excellent management of the light and of the colors, which give a great graphical strength to your composition.
The sky is really beautiful, its decoration of small clouds is magnificent.
A nice work, my friend.
Best regards,
Josep

Hallo Andreas,
Dimitris.

it is a nice photo Leo,
the ligh was difficult, I am not sure about a composition with the tree in the middle, I think when you keep the tree out the middle the composition is much stronger, farther good job, have a nice evening.

Andreas,
You’re very popular on this site. I’m newly active, so I guess people don’t know me yet. Anyway, Love the photo, really depict the typical village life in Laos. You even got some live stocks in it. I don’t think the sky is overexposed, actually I almost think the upper part is under exposed. Off course where the sunlight comes through will be much lighter or more exposed. That tree needs to go though. Just kidding! Yes it would be prefer if the tree is to the side but I think the overall feel is good, you even catch that morning mist haze in it. Great details and clarity. Thank showing part of my home country that I’ve never been. WL

Good shot! I like the lighting and colour of this, which gives it a very realistic and beautiful appearance, especially the sky. Good choice to place the tree right in the centre of the image, which divides the frame and also connects the land to the sky. Well done!

Hi Andreas,
Rather intersting with lots of information to view. The old buildings definitely have character and the clouded sky provide a wonderful canopy. Great work and TFS. Gerald

Hej Andreas
First of all I like that branch with green leafs that in sort of good irritating way making the comp more interesting.
And there's definitely something special about Asian mornings you have cached it before and you do it now.
you hear the roster the dogs and feel the smell of burned cocnut shells.

Hi Andreas
this looks like a difficult kind of light to photographed in - far too easy to overexpose the sky, but your shot is very well-managed and gives us a good feeling of the village and its houses, and what the atmosphere there must have been like. Looks like a very peaceful and friendly place.

Hallo Andreas,
Looks like a HDR exposure with so much clairty and detail. Absolute great colour balance but also strange to see a dark blue sky which flows over in a very bright one in the far distance. I like the tree which is placed in the middle...

It must be a very cool and quiet place. Knowing how cities in Laos are, I can imagine how far the villages can go when it comes to slow pace and quietness. I like the atmosphere there, maybe a bit overex in the sky but this is not an issue when it comes to carry the right ambiance.

Hello Leo,
Good light, the low angle makes it interesting!
Typical village scenery well captured, the lack of people (except one) tells this is early morning...
Nice documentary!

Cordiales salutations,
Emilius

hi andreas...the sky and the tree make this...not so much the exposure but the cloud bank and the way it just tops the shot...the tree does a very neat trick in being its connection with the earth..central and so imminent
the rest of the details gather round and make a statement of a village
quietness and peace abound
cheers
geof
ps..i did think there was some use of a grad filter on the top part?
