What is life like outside?
Should I step out?
Should I stay?
Would I make any difference?
Or I'll become one of the many?
Thanks to a friend who suggested this title. I spotted this monk in one of the small houses in the compound of Wat Xien Thong. He had that curious look. I took three shots of him and all the time, he was very cooperative.
Just like my other Laos shots, I find this picture very Luang Prabang. The place is pretty much unspoiled, IMHO. There are a lot of things happening in the place but the people retained their rustic charm. They are curious but they hold on to their culture. They have such a serene composure, something that we need to have in this busy world.

I found the color of the clothes pretty amazing. Wonderful shot as usual. Cheers.

Nice picture indeed! I like the color combination between orange and rustic green. The ruined wall on the left really makes this picture more authentic and balanced.

superbe composition verticale. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs; on passe du blanc aux teintes pastelles de la porte et on finit avec le orange du tissu. L'expression de curiosité est bien restituée et d'ailleurs lui même aguise ma curiosité sur son mode de vie. bravo

Particularly in your part of the world it is often very young children who come into the community of monks. I don't doubt that the curiosity of your title exists among young people whose vocation was more likely the product of poverty than anything else, would exist.
This is a gorgeous image Manny, with the young monk standing against the black interior of the building, the worn colors of the door and railing, and the dilapidated wall all adding interest and texture as counterpoint to the brilliant reddish-orange of his garments. Beautiful!

Usual great shot, interesting to see the state of the building in this one.

Good setting and compo where the boy in the strong red gives a grand contrast to the 'framing'. Very good Manny

Excellent title for this one Manuel, curiosity perfectly illustrated here. I like your composition and crop, just ideal and perfect. Vertical compositions are not always so easy. I like the inclusion of damaged wall and the blue piece of wood at the base of the picture. His look is a bit strange, still between curiosity and distrust. Very nicely captured, as always, and a very excellent serie of these monks. Very fine work Manuel.

It's indeed a fine title for this photo, Manny. An I really like your framing, a bit of "Claude style" with the young monk appearing between the shutter and the wall. The textures of the building are very well rendered, and the human presence surely "enlightens" the scene, in terms of color and his posing. Beautiful photo.
P.S. check your "date taken" ... ;-)
