[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken from a very small village called Muang Ngoi in far northern Laos. Muang Ngoi is accessable by a 3-4 hour bus from Luang Prabang, then a further 1 hour boat trip upsteam, as there is no direct road to the village by land.

Other than the sound of early morning cockrals, and monks chanting at dawn, Muang Ngoi is a very peaceful place; a truely beautiful part of South East Asia.

Hi James, A great photo from a wonderful POV, the area looks stunning & superbly composed, I envy you it is magnificent, kind regards Wilson.

Hello James,
This is just the kind of scene I like to see here at TE. A good balanced composition. They must have some soil erosion problems (or perhaps it just rained) as the water river is brown. The boats are effectively placed in your frame. Hope you don't mind I created a WS phot. Good work, and tfs - Danilo

hi james

the shot itself has some noise but it doesn't detract from a strong composition. the placement of the boats is good and the misty mountains add to the atmosphere. i have fond memories of laos and this shot brings them back. thank you

Nice landscape, but your ws is better. It's still a bit dark but the composition has been improved.
The color of the water is amazing.
Regards,
Jean-Claude
