| Construction began on Pha That Luang(great stupa)around the year 1566AD and legend has it that it was built on the site of a reliquary(3rd century BC) which is said to hold the breastbone of Buddha. |

The contrast between the sky and the structure is perfect. Though there may (I am on a laptop and the screen has a tendency of shown areas differently then they truly are)be a slightly overexposed portion on the base of the upper 'spire'
Interesting note you added, especially due to a recent trip to Northern Thailand in which I visited a rather old structure which rumors state hold a bone of Buddha.
Hey Steve,
Great POV, your low vantage point made this shot seem surreal. Image quality is superb, fantastic details, shimmery gold over blue contrast, a calming and meditative colour combination. Well presented image here dude!
Cheers!

how it shines like gold is good evidence that officials were able to restore it well for tourist attraction. This temple of 6 centuries seems as if it s newly built. your photo brings about the question whether historical remains need this much of care , what if their value is decreased if they dont seem really that old actually
I like the colours and the graphic elements on show here - nicely exposed image - TFS :)
