Photographer’s Note
Well... to be honest, I'm running out of stuff to share with you. I was away for close to three months and I've uploaded a lot of my favourite stuff already. There's nothing here that particularly catches my attention or inspires me, so I've been having a hard time doing anything interesting.
Anyway, here is a shot that I loved the second I took it. Unfortunately there was a plastic bag cluttering the frame, which ruined the shot. Since then I've learned a bit more about PP and I managed to clear it up -- it was a bit of a cheat but I'll live with it :P
I was visiting this small village with my Japanese friend and a couple of other Japanese guys we met on the minibus ride to the village. Most of my time was devoted to taking photos of a girl weaving some cloth, but I turned around and saw this little boy sat leaning against the wooden pillar staring off blankly into the distance and couldn't resist.
Out of interest... is anybody here in or around Manchester in England? I would love to meet up with some people form TE one day soon. Probably not quite as big as the event in Paris (which thinking about it I wish I'd nipped across the channel for!) but I reckon it could be fun nonetheless!

This is a nice catch Lewis. Technically, the image is great. What attracts me is the expression in the boy's eyes. I can't help but pause and wonder about who he is, what he's doing here, what he is looking at and what is going through his mind.

Hi Lewis, nice spot of this little boy. To me, he doesn't seem to be giving an expression of sadness, but rather wonder at whatever it is he is gazing at, and perhaps a little bored with the entire situation as well. Hard to tell much else from the scene, as its pretty barren.

Hello LEwis
Nice expression, he looks kind of sad,
the background is very well captured, I agree with Eric, you should play with levels a bit,

Hi lewis! a sad kid indeed, but i quite like the photo! there is a melancolic touch to it! Only suggestion would have been to push up the levels to bright it up a bit...
Cheers
eric (not dry now)

Hi Lewis,
Muang Sing....damn, I still remember the 9 hours in the back of a pick-up truck just to get to Luang Nam Tha from the Thai border....and then....what was it...a few more hours to Muang Sing.
You sure have learned a lot of PP because I can't see where the plastic bag used to be :O)
The light here is really good. I like the natural colours and the lonely childs expression.....very relaxed against the pillar.
Well done!!
:) Tina
