Photographer’s Note

A short climb to the top of Mt Phousi in Luang Prabang is the best way to spend any day. Landscape shots are different for me as I don't have such a keen eye for them, but I'm happy with how this one turned out -- the clouds in particular make the shot for me.

Interestingly I shot Luang Nam Tha a matter of two days after this one (which to this date remains my highest rated photo on Te... maybe I should give up shooting people and head out to the hills!).

The correct Lao pronounciation of the mountain name is extremely close to an English word... ashamed as I am to admit it, this provided my friends and I quite a lot of fun... and I know the same is true for a lot of visitors to Luang Prabang :)

The columns of sunlight through the clouds have come out great. I took a shot almost at the same location sometime this Jan., but the river was not muddy like in your shot.Added a further dimension of colour though..

Hey Lewis,

I like it, although I think you have a great eye for people and details. You should maybe pursue that sort of genre more. The way view here is wonderful. Nicely saturated, good contrast, a good photo.
